The St. Patrick's Day Parade was festive and fun. We are proud to announce
that the Westhampton Historical Society's float -- depicting the Life Saving
Service of 1909 rescuing shipwreck survivors as part of the parade's theme
of Every Day Heroes -- won Second Place for community floats.
A special thanks to all the participants: Diane Herold for designing,
building and painting the float; Ernie Davis for providing transportation;
Wes Winters for supplying life preservers; Beecher Halsey III for the dory;
marchers: Lauren Barlow, Lois Davis, Ridgie Barnett, Jim Rowbotham, Liz Max,
Jackie Monette, Suzanne Hulme, Meredith Murray, and surf men: Bob Murray and
Jim Hulme.
